1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
Description
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
This absolutely stunning 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle with SS trim is powered by a non-numbers matching 454 v8 paired with a 4 speed manual transmission. The owner states that the engine was rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. It is finished in Tuxedo Black over a red interior and shows very well. It is in excellent cosmetic condition both inside and out. Mechanically the Chevelle is very strong and it performs well. The car just had over $1,000 worth of stereo work completed and comes with receipt.
The front end was rebuilt and upgraded with polyurethane bushings. The pitman arm, centerlink, balljoints look new. The rear suspension is new- upgraded tubular upper and lower control arms, new swaybar, bushings and shocks. Disc brakes in front. Calipers, backing plate, hoses, lines and e-brake cables are new. Fuel tank, sending unit, straps, lines and fuel pump are new. The exhaust has Flowmaster mufflers and cowbell tips. The metal looks to be very dry, clean original. Even the lower inner rockers and quarters are clean.
The Chevelle was a mid-size model that was produced over a few generations starting in 1964. The second generation is arguably the most popular and featured a distinctly sculpted “coke bottle” body with tapered fenders and a rear quarter kick up. A variety of engines were on offer but the most potent and powerful being the 454cid V8 in the SS. The 1970 model year brought a host of changes such as a squared up front fascia and revised options. The quad headlights are probably the most well regarded Chevelle feature and typically hold the highest value.
