1970 Ford Torino Cobra
Description
1970 Ford Torino Cobra
1970 Ford Torino Cobra 2-door Fastback for purchase. This striking black Snake with red interior has a freshly rebuilt original 429 4V Thunder Jet engine and C6 transmission. The odometer shows a little over 46,000 miles on this surviving Muscle Car. This number matching Torino has a new gas tank and sending unit, the original spare tire and jack, and original wheels. The factory Rally wheels are covered with BF Goodrich raised white letter tires. The sparse but stock interior was perfect for a sleeper but the sound of the exhaust and the Cobra emblems and 429 badges quickly give up the mystery of this grocery getter. Documentation for this Ford includes a Marti report and detailed build sheet. This is a solid example of the era of the great American Muscle Cars. Most Torino’s were conventional cars, and generally the most popular models were the four-door sedans and two-door hardtops. However, Ford produced some high-performance versions of the Torino by fitting them with large powerful engines, such as the 428 cu in (7.0 L) and 429 cu in (7.0 L) “Cobra-Jet” engines. These cars are classified as muscle cars. Ford also chose the Torino as the base for its NASCAR entrants, and it has a successful racing heritage.
